Alderweireld set to miss Juve Trip

Toby Alderweireld is not expected to travel with the Spurs squad ahead of their Champions League last-16 first-leg tie against Juventus in Turin on Tuesday.
The decision has been taken to leave the defender in London where he can continue his conditioning work rather than travel to a game and sit on the bench.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has previously spoken about how much he demands from players and because of those demands he carefully manages their return following long-term injuries to avoid them suffering a recurrence. The Argentine also did the same with Danny Rose and Erik Lamela and we understand this is the case for Alderweireld.
The Belgian returned to play the full 90 minutes in the FA Cup against Newport County, having previously missed over three months with a hamstring injury, but was absent for Saturday’s win against Arsenal.
